Josh Florent proclaims: “I make things work!!” and the more you read about this 30-year-old from Fort Langley,BC and his 16-year-old Nissan Xterra SE, the more you’ll believe him. Josh came up with the name of his ride, Rhino, while building his Stinger bumper. It was after getting the 33” tires and both bumpers on that he began to feel that Rhino was his dream ride: “I was encouraged early on from other off-road enthusiasts that I was creating a tasteful build.” His best add-on shows what a do-it-yourself he is: “My favourite mod on my vehicle is the rear tire carrier because it was amazing to see it come to life from sketches, to welds, and finally to paint.” Next, he wants a winch: “It will give me peace of mind to get out of those sticky situations.” It isn’t just what he’s done to it that brings Josh joy, it’s also where he’s gone: “I love to take my truck up to the local mountain trails. I’ve done Jones Lake, Vedder, Chehalis, Foley, Stave and many more.” “My most fond memory of Rhino was taking it up the trails to 10-mile Bay with my wife and a good buddy of mine! We had a ton of fun and awesome views!” Josh also gives back: “I do clean-ups on River Road in my hometown all the time where people continue to leave garbage and nails on the beach at the Fraser River.” “I’m just a backyard mechanic with a passion for tuning cars and trucks. The reason why my Xterra means so much to me is because I’ve put so many man hours into this thing. 98% of this build from custom parts to aftermarket mods was put together in my driveway with a socket set and my hand tools. I’m an electrician by trade so running harnesses for my switch bank etc. was easy.”
